The Project
Over $150 million in projects ranging from small remodels valued at a few thousand dollars to individual fab buildings where our contract exceeded $50 million.* In all, since 1983 we have constructed over 30 projects and 75,000 sf of cleanrooms for SEH America.
*Dollar values reflect our work only, not the overall value of the project and equipment.
The Challenges
Productivity for SEH America, a producer of silicon wafers, depends on round-the-clock operations in a pristine environment. Yet dirt, dust and other perils to cleanliness are the natural byproducts of any construction project. So, how do you construct a new building on a company's campus or remodel an existing one without contaminating a single wafer or causing a single hiccup in production? Here are just some of the challenges we faced and our solutions.
1. Cleanliness. We're frequently asked to remodel a cleanroom while operations continue. By following some of the most fastidious construction techniques in the industry, we're able to contain all contaminants and keep SEH America's operations running smoothly while we keep our construction on schedule.

2. 24/7 production schedule. To allow SEH America to continue its round-the-clock operations, we always prioritize their operations over our schedule, allowing their work to go on without a hitch.

3. Vibration-free construction. The manufacture of silicon wafers is highly sensitive to movement or vibration. Consequently, we have pioneered techniques for vibration-free construction in and outside the cleanrooms.

The Result
A long-term relationship with a client that appreciates our ability to perform under the most restrictive and demanding of conditions.
