Steve Deacon started S.D. Deacon in 1981 with a philosophy based on honesty and fairness. By maintaining these core values and adding emphasis on excellent planning, communication and teamwork, our company has grown and prospered.
We now have four offices. Perhaps the best measure of our success today is our customers. Two thirds of our work is repeat business and two thirds of all contracts are negotiated.
We've also become a major player in the industry. In retail construction, we rank in the top ten of largest contractors in the nation and number one on the west coast. Our volume of work, spread throughout the western U.S., totaled more than $600 million in 2007.
Four Independent Offices: Seattle, Portland, Sacramento and Irvine
One reason for our success is the fact that we've established each office with its own independent staff of leaders and decision makers. Each office has its own project managers, superintendents, accounting department and all necessary staff.
By creating fully independent offices, all sharing a consistent philosophy and culture, we're able to provide you with direct access to the decision makers on your projects. Our structure also gives our people more opportunities (and incentive) for advancing their careers. The result is highly motivated people who collaborate with you throughout the project.

A relationship with Butler Manufacturing gives us an additional specialty in pre-engineered metal buildings. With our Special Projects, Repair & Restoration and General Construction divisions, we are able to handle projects ranging from $500 to more than $50 million.
